Catherine M. Halloran, 98, of Narragansett, died Monday at her home in Narragansett. Born in Providence, a daughter of Michael C. and Maria (Hanafin) Halloran, she had lived in Warwick before moving to Narragansett in 2003.
She had been employed as an executive secretary at the former New England Telephone Company for forty years. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America and the Mount Pleasant Senior Citizens.
She had been a communicant of St. Gregory the Great and St. Mary Star of the Sea parishes. She leaves three nephews, William M. Halloran and Rev. Msgr. John C. Halloran of Narragansett, Edward P. Halloran of Warwick; a niece, Ann Stone of Narragansett, and several grandnieces and grandnephews. She was the sister of the late Rev. Frederick M. Halloran, William T. Halloran, Marguerite T. Halloran and Anna R. Franey.
Her funeral will be held Thursday at 8:30 A.M. from THE URQUHART-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Route 5, Warwick (Exit 12A on I-95) followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 A.M. in St. Mary Star of the Sea Church, 866 Point Judith Road, Narragansett. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery in Cranston. Visiting Hours: Wednesday evening 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Beacon Hospice of North Kingstown.
