Ruth E. (Oatley) Gorton, 102, a homemaker of Trinity Street, Warwick, passed away Friday at home. She was the wife of the late Clarence M. Gorton. Born in Providence, she was one of nine children of the late Frederick A. and Martha J. (Lapham) Oatley. She was a member of Greenwood Community Church Presbyterian in Warwick and a member of the 39ers group of the church. She was the beloved mother of Jane M. Rice of Warwick. Loving aunt of Bernice Coyle of Warwick, Joan Nauman of California and Arlene Gorton of Warwick. Her Funeral Service will be held Tuesday at 11:00 am in THE URQUHART-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Route 5, Warwick (Exit 12A on I-95). Burial will follow in Quidnessett Memorial Cemetery, North Kingstown. Relatives and friends are invited and may call Tuesday 9:00-11:00 am.
