Alan E. Fossa, 52, of Johnston passed away Sunday after a courageous 5 year battle with cancer surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his beloved, devoted and loving wife and best friend of 18 years Kathleen M. (Mulvaney) Fossa. Born in Providence, he was the son of Anna M. (Calise) Fossa of Woonsocket and the late Albert G. Fossa. Al graduated from LaSalle Academy and Broms Barber Academy. Al was employed by R.J. Flooring, Inc. as an installer for the past 18 years. He was also a professional Barber for the past 31 years. He was a member of Carpenters Union Local 94. Besides his wife and mother, Al was the proud father of Alan J. Fossa of Boston. Al was also survived by a brother Kevin P. Fossa and his wife Gina of North Providence and a sister Karen M. Fossa Stefanik and her husband John of Blackstone, MA. Al also leaves two nieces and one nephew. He will be sadly missed by his loving pets Uncle Fester and Maxine DiNozzo. Anyone who knew Al appreciated his dry wit and all around great sense of humor and love for life. His funeral will be held Thursday at 8:30 am from THE URQUHART-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Route 5, Warwick (Exit 12A on I-95) with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in Our Lady of Grace Church, George Waterman Road, Johnston.
