Joseph C. Dupre, 89, of Minnesota Avenue, died Thursday at Sunny View Nursing Home. He was the beloved husband of Muriel R. (Dexter) Dupre. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Joseph and Alphonsene (Guertin) Dupre. Mr. Dupre was a Tool Designer for O.A.R. Tool & Die in Providence until his retirement in 1989. He served in The United States Marine Corps during WW II. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Calusa Carvers Club of Ft. Myers, FL, the Mystic Carvers Club in Mystic, CT and was an award winning sculptor and carver. He was the loving father of David J. Dupre of North Kingstown. Robert J. Dupre of Jamestown and Sharon J. Gale of Cranston. Caring brother of Normand Dupre of Chepachet, Yvonne Davis of Warwick and Albina Scott of Woonsocket. Cherished grandfather of six and great grandfather of nine. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, August 7, 2010 at 10:00 am in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 596 Jefferson Boulevard, Warwick. Relatives and friends are invited.
