Ruth A. (Gilchrist) Diko, 62, of Warwick, passed away Monday at home. She was the former wife and dear friend of James K. Diko, Sr. Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Edward J. and Frances M. (McAvoy) Gilchrist. Mrs. Diko had been employed with the Warwick School Department and Kent Hospital. She was a communicant of St. Kevin Church. Devoted to her family, she was a loving and caring mother who enjoyed traveling, gardening and spending days with her grandchildren. She was the beloved mother of Shannon K. Diko of East Greenwich, James K. Diko, Jr. of Warwick and Drew E. Diko of Warwick. Cherished grandmother of Evan and Alex. Caring sister of three brothers and two sisters. Her funeral will be held Saturday at 7:45 am from THE URQUHART-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Route 5, Warwick (Exit 12A on I-95) with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 am in St. Kevin Church, 333 Sandy Lane, Warwick.
