Arlene touched my life deeply and the lives of so many women in the Northern Virginia area. She was a mother, sister and mentor. She shared a message of love and acceptance with all she came in contact with. This message will go on forever as it passed sister to sister and Arlene will go on forever in our hearts and in the way we live our lives. I will miss her smiling face and the lilt in her voice, yet I know she will always be with us all in spirit.

Arlene...This morning long before dawn, watching over my puppies in the backyard, I couldn't help but notice a very brilliant star near the moon. It was the brightest star in all the sky, and the brightest I'd ever seen, and I wondered, could that be Arlene smiling down upon us all. The day I met Arlene was during the lowest point in my life. I was scared, and so far off my true path. After spending time talking with me, listening to me, she hugged me and told me that I would be ok. This was during a time when even the doctors wouldn't tell me that. I learned and growed so much from being in her presence, and I am where I am in life and on my path because of her. I have always referred to her as an Angel here on Earth; she's still that angel, just up in the stars. I am truly honored and grateful for having met and learned from Arlene.
