Doris E. (Lassig) Davenport, 89, of Warwick, passed away Wednesday at home. She was the wife of the late William H. Davenport. Born in Rehoboth, MA, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Clara (Peters) Lassig.
Mrs. Davenport was a graduate of Bryant College. She had worked as physicians assistant for Dr Clarkin MD and as a clerk at Rite Aid Pharmacy of Warwick. She was a member of Warwick Central Baptist Church. Doris was an excellent cook and seamstress.
She was the beloved mother of William H. Davenport, Jr. and his wife Terri and Robert B. Davenport, all of Florence SC, Donna Davenport-DeValerio and her husband Glen of Tiverton and Richard P. Davenport and his wife Kathy, Mark W. Davenport and his wife Carolyn, and Glenn S. Davenport and his wife Lori, all of Warwick. Caring sister of Raymond Lassig of Trenton, MI, Betty Callahan of Leominster, MA and the late Paul and Charles Lassig, Jr. Cherished grandmother of twenty and great grandmother of twenty.
Her Funeral Service will be held Saturday at 9:30 am in THE URQUHART-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Route 5, Warwick (Exit 12A on I-95). Burial will follow in R.I. Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter. Relatives and friends are invited and may call Friday 4-8 pm. In lieu of flowers, gifts in her memory to Home & Hospice Care of RI, 1085 No Main St., Providence, RI 02904 would be appreciated.
