Norma Marie (DeRentiis) Casale, 79 of Warwick, wife of Joseph R. Casale for 52 years, and mother of Joseph P. Casale, Esq. and Peter J. Casale died on August 8, 2010, at home. Born in Providence, Norma was the second daughter of the late Vincenzo and Elizabeth DeRentiis.

Along with her husband and sons, she is survived by Joseph's wife, Marie, and their children, Katelyn and Sophia Casale, and Tyler and Shannon Hookanson, and Peter's daughter, Olivia Casale. Norma was the sister of Jim DeRentiis of Wellington, FL, Olga Barry of Reno, NV, Alva Imbeault of Da Land, FL and Jessica Palleschi of East Greenwich, RI.

She was the sister-in-law to Dawn DeRentiss, Donald Palleschi, John O. Barry, Marie Casale, Rosann Fagan and the late Carl Mosca, Domenic Casale and John Imbeault. She was the younger sister of the late Dorinda DeRentiss Mosca. Aunt, great aunt and great great aunt to over thirty-five nieces and nephews, Norma was the loving godmother of nine.

She had many cousins whom she came to know through her travels with her husband through Italy and Europe. From Westford, MA, her cousin Stefano D'Aquino, his lovely wife Liza and their two children, became part of her care and concern. Norma had two aunts, an uncle, many cousins, and many wonderful friends.

Along with her husband, for 25 years, Norma owned and directed the School of Medical and Legal Secretarial Services, until her retirement at age 69. With a mission of assisting young women to reach their fullest potential for a long career, Norma successfully graduated many skilled and accomplished students. With an interest in real estate and home décor, Norma and her husband bought and renovated several residential properties.

Throughout their married lives they lived in different homes from the small northern Town of Greenville, to the southern tip of beautiful Point Judith. Norma's gift with home design was evident in each beautiful home they created. Her talents extended to all areas of homemaking with a special knack for cooking. As an award winning baker, her sweets were always in demand.

Norma's Funeral will be held Thursday August 12, 2010 at 8:45 am from THE URQUHART-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Route 5, Warwick (Exit 12A on I-95) with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. Gregory The Great Church, 360 Cowesett Road, Warwick, RI. Burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston, RI. Her family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday August 11, 2010 from 4-8 pm in the funeral home. If you so desire, contributions in Norma's memory may be made to The University of Rhode Island.
