Russell A. Carpenter, 75, of Cumberland passed away Monday at Miriam Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Phyllis L. (Bergden) Carpenter. Born in Worcester, MA he was a son of the late Russell A. and Rose (Chestnut) Carpenter. Mr. Carpenter was a Building Superintendent for Bank of New England / Old Colony until his retirement in 2001. He had also served in The United States Army. He was the loving father of Linea R. Wilbur and her husband Keith of West Warwick. Cherished step grandfather of Ashley and Tayla Wilbur. Caring brother of Kenneth Carpenter of Warwick, Constance Smith of Seekonk, MA, Beverly Bannon of Cumberland and the late Daniel Carpenter. His Funeral Service will be held Friday at 11:00 am in THE URQUHART-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Route 5, Warwick (Exit 12A on I-95).
