Daniel A. Barney, 60, of Warwick and Narragansett, died peacefully at home on May 27, 2010 surrounded by his loving wife, Maureen (Cotoia) and daughters, Brittany and Kristen. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late William A. Barney and Mary P. (Meanerhan) Barney. He leaves two brothers, William Barney and his wife, Louise, and Casey Barney and his wife, Elaine. He is also survived by two aunts and his mother-in-law, Elizabeth Cotoia. Dan was a graduate of South Kingstown High School and URI, wehre he was a member of Phi Mu Delta Fraternity. He worked for American Airlines for over 30 years, firs tin downtown Porvidence, and later at Logan and T.F. Green Airports. He had a nostalgia for anything from the 60's, which showed in the music he chose to play on his guitar. He loved spending summers in Narragansett at Kokomo and vacationing with a multitude of dear friends and family. He will be remember for his gentle temperament, humorous wit, and his charm. Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Monday, May 31, 2010 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm followed by a Service of Remembrance and Hope celebrating Dan's life at THE URQUHART-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Route 5, Greenwood, Warwick (Exit 12A off I-95).
